Do You Think McCain Is THIS Liberal?

For those of you who doubt whether we should support John McCain if he becomes the GOP nominee, click on the title link and read.

The City of Berkeley, California has voted that the U.S. Marine Corps is not welcome in their city. I am not kidding. They have granted Code Pink a parking space in front of the recruiting station, and will allow them to protest without charge for a protest permit ince a week.

This is what the mayor of an American city said: "I believe in the Code Pink cause. The Marines don't belong here, they shouldn't have come here, and they should leave," said Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates.

Can you believe this? I am beside myself and speechless. I think the Congress should stop any federal money from going there, and should prohibit the state from spending any money there that originated with the federal government. That includes welfare, roads, the U.S. Post Office, and anything else.

Disgusting. Pathetic. And a bunch of words I won't say here. I can see Hillary and Obama applauding this action.

Vote GOP.

Well to be fair, Senator Clinton has said that she believe the ROTC belongs on college campuses and should no be barred from recruiting on college campuses, so I don't think she would applaud this action. And I doubt Senator Obama would either.

Berkeley is waaaaaaaaaay left and not representative of many, many, many Democrats.

I don't believe that all Republicans think like Ron Paul either.

It has been suggested that we embrace and endorse a different candidate, one who is not currently in the running but one who speaks truth and tells it like it is. So I hereby nominate Samuel Clemens, also known as Mark Twain. Here is what he says and stands for:

We are discreet sheep; we wait to see how the drove is going, and then go with the drove ...

Look at it in politics. Look at the candidates whom we loathe, one year, and are afraid to vote against, the next; whom we cover with unimaginable filth, one year, and fall down on the public platform and worship, the next--and keep on doing it until the habitual shutting of our eyes to last year's evidences brings us presently to a sincere and stupid belief in this year's. Look at the tyranny of party--at what is called party allegiance, party loyalty -- a snare invented by designing men for selfish purposes -- and which turns voters into chattels, slaves, rabbits, and all the while their masters, and they themselves are shouting rubbish about liberty, independence, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, honestly unconscious of the fantastic contradiction; and forgetting or ignoring that their fathers and the churches shouted the same blasphemies a generation earlier when they were closing their doors against the hunted slave, beating his handful of humane defenders with Bible texts and billies, and pocketing the insults and licking the shoes of his master.

This time around, let us not be enslaved by sound bites and political sloganeering and blind allegiances. We tried that. It hasn't worked.

Singing my song, Eco. I get so frustrated with all the people who vote with no clue or vote because three days before the election they saw a couple of soundbites during dinner.
