Damian Thompson at London's Daily Telegraph asks, "What has Al Gore done for world peace?":

"Climate change is a threat to the environment, not to "peace" and international order. The prize has gone to some sleazy recipients in the past, but at least you can make a case that their actions staved off bloodshed."

Nice posting!

Great pics!!!! Gore is a moron who is dangerous because he takes sciens fiction and claims it to be science fact. The , "Peace prize, " has become nothing more tnan a liberal man of the year award. it lost all credibility when it was given to Arrafat.

Now it stoops to a new low with Gore!

BTW you are having a problem that I had with cartoons blurring sometimes. I found the answer to the problem one day. Just click to enlarge the pic before you copy and paste. The pix in the enlargedment keep it from bluring.

I appreciate the tip! I only started adding cartoons recently - inspired by your weekly gallery - and working through the finer points.

Ha! Sour grapes!

If the Nobel Peace Prize means nothing, then why have people nominated Bush and Rush Limpbaugh for it?

Both Bush and Limpbaugh would have demanded that their names be removed from the list of nominees.

Oh, I get it. It's a joke only when people you hate win it.

Did you think Mother Teresa's winning the Nobel Peace Prize was a joke too?

woohoo he and Arafat in the same league..LOL

womanhonorthyself,

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., won the Nobel Peace Prize.

So he's in the "same league" with Arafat. As is Mother Teresa, Doctors Without Borders, Nelson Mandela, Aung San Suu Kyi, The 14th Dalai Lama, Elie Wiesel, Jimmy Carter, Desmond Tutu, Lech Walesa, Menachem Begin, Anwar Sadat, Andre Sakharov, Henry Kissinger, Albert Schweitzer, and President Theodore Roosevelt, among many, many other.

So they, too, are in the "same league" with Arafat.

Does that circumstance diminish their prizes?

I'd say Mr. Gore is in exceptionally distinguished company.

And you all are suffering from sour grapes.

I'd like to hear your answer.

No sour grapes, Shaw. A peace prize for a movie that is nothing but socialist propoganda?

Please tell me what some edited film of polar bears has to do with world peace?!

Or is Hezbollah fighting because El Al Airlines uses too much fuel?

The Nobel Committee that awarded Mr. Gore his prize explained how his global warming awareness efforts contributes to world peace.

But people with closed minds who detest Mr. Gore are not capable of reading or listening to the Nobel Committee. Nor do they care. Okay.

Anyway. It really doesn't matter.

With Bush polling in the 20s, he's reviled not only here in America, but around the world, and Al Gore is a respected statesman and a great American.

No matter how you and the posters here trash him.

You're a very small minority.

But I understand your angst.

Robert said...

There is no angst. If it had not been on FoxNews I would never have known. Good for him, and I hope he enjoys it to his dying day.

I could care less that it was awarded to him. If I actualy believed that the committee was interested in World Peace, I might have some "angst". But they aren't and I don't.

In no way do I believe that you think Algore is a statesman. Especially after his demon-possessed rant during his campaign. A statesman would be trying to find answers and not being as partisan as one can be.

Neither have I trashed him. I reserve that for libs that are a threat to conservatism. He is his own caricature.
