I know the republican debate was last night, but I didn't bother watching it. I was busy creating a blog for my new cub scout den. One must have priorities. Besides, did anything happen last night that you weren't expecting? I didn't think so. The dems are in a precarious position going into '08, and I think that they will be a great source of both comedy and frustration as we go forward. The are in a perfect position to be defeated. Unfortunately, we don't have anyone in position to do it. I remain angry at the GOP for totally destroying the political party dynasty that we could have had beginning with the 1994 elections. We have placed ourselves in a position that we are in disarray and have no principles whatsoever. The party is composed of a bunch of good ole boys who are only looking after their own political careers.
BUT, the thing that bears discussion is the posturing of the Russian military and the fact that cold-war style bomber flights are occuring from Russia. FoxNews reports here that for the third time a NATO country has scrambled fighters to intercept these flights.
Russia is trying to take advantage of the fact that the U.S. and the U.K. have been embroiled in this war for six years, and it will continue for generations. The Russian economy has rooted and the Russians are still bent out of shape because they lost the cold war.
We need to take this situation seriously. Don't forget that these people have nukes too.

Puttin is former JGB and I knew with his back ground it would only be a matter of time until he went back to his USSR roots.
You can't teach an old dog new tricks and Puttin is proving this to be true!
Slowly and surely he is returning Russia to policies that compare to the former USSR while trying to fool the world into thinking he advocates a Democracy and Captiolism.
I hope our next President sees through the black curtain that Puttin has hung and sees the threat that he is building and recognizes hispartnership with Iran and the danger it poses.

Great post Robert! I agree with you regarding the debates. I just keep hoping when Fred joins in, he will shake them up or unite them, either way, something needs to happen.

You are right about our next president, whoever that may be, better keep his eyes open and see them for the threat they are.
