Is John Edwards and the amazingly stupid and socialist health plan that he proposes. In this plan he removes freedom, increases your taxes, lowers the quality of health care, and increases the federal bureacracy exponentially with one swoop of a pen.

According to Edwards, EVERY American would be required to participate. You would also be required to have preventive medical visits ahead of any illness. You would not be allowed to opt out of the plan. How about that for good old fashioned liberty?

He says that this plan would cost $120 billion annually, and that it would be paid for by eliminating the Bush tax cuts. $120 billion in government projections means a real cost of close to a trillion dollars, and I don't recall the Bush tax cuts being quite that much money.

Imagine the government office that will be required to regulate such a plan. If the Transportation Security Administration needs 60,000 employees to make sure that airline passengers are safe, how many people will be needed to assure that 300 MILLION people visit their doctor annually? That is 300 million claims or preventative care alone, plus billions of claims for emergency care, follow-up treatments, physical therapy visits, surgical procedures, and a hundred other possibilities. Did I mention that it also includes dental and vision? That is 600 million preventative claims to add.

So what is it with these left wing morons who propose touchy feely legislation in an attempt to bring socialism to America? If you notice, the left uses "health care" and "health insurance" interchangeably. Everyone should, and can, receive health care.

The rest of the rhetoric is simpy a ploy to get you to pay for it. Two Ronald Reagan statements are appropriate here. "Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them". He also said "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, I'm from the government and I'm here to help".

We should really re-visit some real conservative philosophies.
