Today Is The Day!

Football kicks off tonight, and what better game to show on ESPN than an SEC game featuring one of the pre-season favorites for the National Title.

LSU vs. Mississippi State. Won't be the best game of the year, but it is the first! Unfortunately for my SEC football addiction I have to go to cub scouts tonight. But, Auburn is on ESPN saturday night at 6:45 CST. Start the season right. Be there or be square...

UPDATE: 9:02 p.m.

Back from Cub Scouts where I will now be a den leader. Will do another post soon about that. Now attached to my chair in front of a relatively boring ball game. At halftime it was LSU 17, Miss State 0. About what I expected, but Miss State started to give this one away early. I was hoping for a first night upset to take some pressure off of Auburn. UPDATE while I am updating: LSU 24, Miss State 0. My better half will now be changing the channel.

Goodnight, all.

Awwww, a den leader! I can't wait to hear about that!!

For some reason, I don't get into college football too much. Now pro is a different story. Although I have a bad feeling about their season this year. (Eagles)

LOL @ your bettter half changing the channel.

Pro football is nothing but a bunch of spoiled rotten little babies who cry because they only got a $20 million contract instead of a $30 million contract. The NFL has ruined the game with the stupid attempt at parity, and a team such as the 1972 Dolphins will never be seen again.

But it is nice to see a woman who partakes in football. My wife likes Auburn, but she actually said to me "How do you watch this all day, week after week? It is just basically the same game over and over".

And this from woman who watches chick flicks. Girl meets boy, boy goofs up, girl meets another boy, first boy tries to get her back, second boy is humiliated, girl and boy hold hands and everything is rainbows and puppies.

She wouldn't know a west coast offense from a Yugo. But in all fairness, the LSU train was gaining steam and it was all but over.

LOL! I am a major tomboy. I actually like baseball and hockey better, but still a football fan. Won't watch basketball to save my life though.

I know what you mean about the athletes now a days. They start dancing when they get a touchdown. Last I heard that was part of their job. Next time I make my kid lunch, I'm gonna do a little food dance! They are cocky and arrogant, and it does get harder and harder to watch.

I find less of that in hockey, maybe that why I enjoy it so much. Or maybe it just the fights and the checking?? LOL

Hi Rob, you are right about Pro football is nothing but a bunch of spoiled rotten little babies.
And the same goes to those thugs that play pro basketball.
unfortunate but true

My opinion is that there hasn't been pro basketball in several decades. My idea of pro sports is people who excell and put their hearts into a game to learn it and be as proficient as possible. People who take it as an insult to lose.

Basketball is an incredible game and can be played as maserfully as a ballet or chess match. Today's players are only professionals in the sense that they get paid to do it. Really just a bunch of thugs.

The NBS season lasts longer than an Alabama summer. Really. An Alabama summer is about 8 months long.

As that's under water, said Buller, it will be the same thing as diving; but it's got to be done, and I'll try it.. Go ahead, he whispered.. She had denied it because it was not present in her memory. Lipps gives us the more far-reaching theory that everything psychic exists as unconscious, but that some of it may exist also as conscious.. The city slept; that is, the better portion of it did.. The time was short, for the sleighing was but too fine; and Father Kingsbury, having tied up his harness, and collected his scattered equipment, was driving so close behind that there was no possibility of lingering for a moment.. Watkinson is in fashionable society, said Caroline, or Mrs.. I won't go a step farther till I know what I'm goin' to say when I get there.. Consequently there are two kinds of unconscious, which we do not as yet find distinguished by the psychologists.. These have the same time, meaning, and intelligibility as we found in the dreams which recorded a desire.. In dreams of men one often finds the cravat as a symbol for the penis; this indeed is not only because cravats hang down long, and are characteristic of the man, but also because one can select them at pleasure, a freedom which is prohibited by nature in the original of the symbol.. On entering the main building, we saw the Rules and Regulations for the Asylum conspicuously posted up.. Morland, I am quite satisfied with the quiet joys of a happy home.. Meanwhile the machine rapidly soared, while my strength even more rapidly failed.. I wept, until my spectacles were dimmed for that hopeless sorrow; but there was a pang beyond tears for those icy statues.. It springs from our balancing of sects.. No other impulse has had to undergo so much suppression from the time of childhood as the sex impulse in its numerous components, from no other impulse have survived so many and such intense unconscious wishes, which now act in the sleeping state in such a manner as to produce dreams.. A seemingly inoffensive, well-made dream of a patient.. The determinations for its realization consist in the fact that repressions have taken place, and that the suppressed emotional wishes shall become sufficiently strong.. Once ashore again, however, he began to prepare his breakfast with some haste...
