And People Think That Government Is The Answer...

Government is too intrusive. We spend political debates trying to give health insurance to elderly people. We allow the left to frame the debate as seniors choosing between cat food and medicine. Yet we cannot allow the free market to do a good thing.

A Wisconsin gas station owner who thought he was doing a good deed by offering gasoline discounts to senior citizens and people supporting youth sports organizations has found out about that old adage that no good deed goes unpunished.

The state of Wisconsin has ordered him to raise his prices. The government says offering the discounts violates the state's Unfair Sales Act — which requires stations to sell gas for about nine percent more than the wholesale price.

The owner says he now worries his customers will think that he's eliminating the discounts in order to increase his profits.

And then we have the story of how alternatives to normalcy and common sense lead to idiocy and another reason for the taxpayers to support things that the far majoprity of Americans find reprehensible.

Read this idiocy. Two lesbians, who were granted some form of marriage license, wanted to have children. So they get a sperm donor to "live their dream" and now want the sperm donor to provide for the children. Instead of this being an example of why we should stick to the things that have worked for thousands of years, we will be once again assaulted with the screams from the left as to how alternative people are discriminated against and why we should go out of our way to accept this type of behavior.

But conservatives are the evil ones for insisting that responsible men and women make decisions about life and their children, and leave the irresponsible and government out of it.
