Interesting that people are actually defending this guy. Well, less defending him than backing away from him, yet they don't seem to be criticizing his opinions.
Here is the original article. The Washington Post has closed off additional comments on the subject. I would imagine it is because there were so few in support of his srticle, and so many calling for a cancellation of Post subscriptions.

These soldiers should be grateful that the American public, which by all polls overwhelmingly disapproves of the Iraq war and the President's handling of it, do still offer their support to them, and their respect.
