Ending? Last time I checked all of the above are still active in the world in some form or another. But still, cute little sayings like this are the cornerstone of the current conservative movement - Don't let details get in the way.

One of my links is one for Marine Gear, which is actually "Sgt. Grit" at Grunt.com.

he is a marine, vietnam vet,and started a small business offering Marine Gear in Oklahoma City some years ago. It has gone from a 3 page black and white catalog to the hottest place for Marines in the country.

I know Sgt. Grit, and do what I can to send business his way (for no compensation, he doesn't even know I put the link here).

Anyway, his catalog has hundreds of Marine bumper stickers, and in the e-newslette each month he has a couple of them. This was yesterdays.

So, I opened it today and was really busy at work so I jsut posted it. I think it makes a great point. War has ended most of those things, not toally, but in the context of real threats to the world. Castro is commie, but who cares? He can't do anything to us.

Anyway, I was hoping for a couple of responses, but Nicho has been a bit grumpy lately.

Nicho is a friend, so I can call him grumpy....I think.

so if war has ended fascism why is your president talking about the fascist muslims? which i think is a ridiculous assertion, but still. and as you said castro is commie as are others.

war solves things but with the cost of human lives. peaceful negotiations on the other hand solve things without the loss of human life. we should value life and make sure that as little poeple die as possible. just my humble opinion though. :)

(Was not able to comment at the end of last week - sorry about the delay)

Castro? Who cares indeed? But I believe that communism is still the backbone of North Korea and China. But hey, it's ended, right?

Nazism is still alive and well. It just won't grow into the political powerhouse again.

And if you think fascism has been solved, you'd better watch the departing speech from President Eisenhower where he speaks of the Military Industrial Complex that is very much alive and kicking today. I consider it the crack cocaine of the US Government - it's bi-partisan habit that we taxpayers fork out billions of dollars to every month.

Slavery is something that your friend Tom DeLay may know something about firsthand.

And yes, I'm grumpy and you're more than welcome to call me on it. But after watching this country descend into partisan chaos over the past decade, I think I’m entitled to be a bit grumpy from time to time – especially when I see cheap talking points on bumper stickers.

Not a problem. Like you, I have no idea why I can click to submit and it post numerous times. But, you get what you pay for I guess.

The grumpy comment was all in fun. We all can be curmudgeons from time to time.

Let me say that I am aware of the fact that all of those things exist. I wasn't insinuating that was solves all of our problems. Communism is alive in N. Korea. But it is not the type of communism that threatens us as a political force as the FSU(former Soviet Union) did the past 50 years. Despite the ramifications of the invasion of Afghnistan and sunsequent failures, the defeat of the USSR in Afghanistan contributed greatly to the fall of the wall.

Besides, it is a platitude that supports the Marines, and the hundreds of bumper stickers available at Sgt. Grit's Grunt.com

You would either get a chuckle by checking them out, or a rise in blood pressure...LOL.
